Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Helpdesk Specialist to support our team in ensuring smooth IT operations and driving technological excellence. The IT Helpdesk Specialist will provide advanced technical support to staff, troubleshoot IT issues, and maintain the efficiency and security of all hardware, software, and systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Technical Support:
    • Respond to and resolve complex IT support requests via email, phone, or in-person with a focus on efficiency and minimizing downtime.
    • Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support when necessary.
  • Hardware & Software Management:
    • Install, configure, and troubleshooting hardware (computers, printers, phones) and software.
    • Ensure proper functioning of critical business applications and systems.
  • User Onboarding & Training:
    • Set up and configure accounts, equipment, and access for new employees.
    • Provide tailored IT training and best practice guidance for staff.
  • System Monitoring & Optimization:
    • Monitor IT systems, applications, and infrastructure for potential issues.
    • Identify areas for improvement and suggest enhancements to existing processes.
  • Documentation & Inventory:
    • Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and IT assets.
    • Develop and update IT documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Project Collaboration:
    • Partner with the IT Operations Manager and other teams to support IT projects, migrations, and upgrades.
    • Contribute to the rollout of new technologies and initiatives.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Enforce cybersecurity protocols, assist in applying security updates, and monitor for vulnerabilities.
    • Support compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements.
       

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 1+ years in an IT helpdesk, technical support, or similar role.
    • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proficiency in managing Windows environments, Office 365, and collaboration tools.
    • Experience with Active Directory, user account management, and system administration.
    • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN, VPN) and familiarity with network troubleshooting.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
    • Effective problem-solving and time-management abilities.
    • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or similar.
