Position Summary
This is a position handling a large book of business and assisting New Producers in handling and processing new and renewal lines of business and providing customer service to clients as assigned and requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prefer In Office but will consider some hybrid depending on responsibilities and workload
- Handle and maintain a $500,000 - $1,000,000 revenue book of business with individual or multiple client advisors. Salary is commensurate with book size.
- Ability to independently handle renewals by obtaining renewal information, preparing underwriting submissions, preparing proposals, and sending to clients and/or meeting with clients as directed by client advisor.
- Assist individual or multiple client advisors in the production of new business.
- Ensure cycling of policies to common expiration date.
- Responsibility for the maintenance of proper documentation in EPIC (Agency Management System).
- Prepare and maintain client information workbooks.
- Identify areas of upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
- Coordinate day-to-day service needs of clients including the issuance of certificates of insurance, policy changes, policy checking, and other dues.
- Complete coverage analysis and premium allocations as requested by the client.
- Meet with underwriters and develop working relationships.
- Developing coverage knowledge.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Good time management skills.
- Assist with training of other account managers or account assistants.
- May also have team lead responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Five or more years of experience in commercial (property and casualty) insurance, preferably with larger and more complex middle-market clients and risks
Licenses or Certifications:
- Active Utah Property and Casualty license required; Utah Life & Health license desired
Required Job Knowledge and Skills:
- Able to work independently
- Knowledge of major insurance coverage's including General Liability, Commercial Automobile, Workers Compensation, Products Liability, Commercial Property, Umbrella
- Understand the content and structure of the insurance contract
- Some knowledge of complex insurance coverage such as E&O, Fiduciary, EPLI, and D&O preferred
- Commercial Property, Umbrella, Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing
- Ability to understand and analyze commercial lines coverage forms, rating, and policies
- Must be actively pursuing CISR, CIC, CRM, ARM or CPCU
- Ability to establish and develop strong relationships with clients, carriers, trusted business partners, and coworkers
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work well with details
- Proficient in a variety of computer software applications used by the agency, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; EPIC; as well as the Internet and Carrier Web Sites
