Compensation: $21 to $24/hr., full-time with benefits

Position Summary
This is an entry-level position working to give support and assistance to Account Managers and Producers.  This position is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts in a supporting Service Team role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Act as a back-up for the Account Manager when they are out of the office.
  • Responsible for handling implementation paperwork when a change in carrier occurs or when a new product is implemented.
  • Assist with renewal and new business quoting and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with Individual plan quotes and implementation.
  • Assist with creation and updates of Benefit Booklets, PowerPoint presentations and any other communication materials for Open Enrollment and New Hires.
  • Enter and submit changes/enrollments to carriers.
  • Fulfill supply requests from clients.  Coordinate carrier supplies.
  • Request, review, coordinate client plan documents such as booklets, contracts, SPDs, etc.
  • May be asked to attend a benefits or open enrollment fair to answer employee questions and distribute benefit materials.
  • Preparation of materials for client meetings.
  • Assist with coordination of Compliance setup.
  • Provide resolution support and oversight of employee issues such as enrollment and billing issues.
  • Request information from clients and carrier partners to initiate and complete the renewal process including but not limited to census data, renewal proposal and plan alternatives.
  • Update and maintain Epic with client information as needed and update renewal as changes occur.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior customer service and knowledge of or experience in the insurance industry preferred
  • Life, Accident & Health License

Required Job Knowledge and Skills:                    
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with current Health, Life, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability (LTD), Short Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Care products
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with PPACA current and proposed regulations
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of citizens and agency staff
  • Proficient in a variety of computer software applications used by the agency, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; EPIC; as well as the Internet and Carrier Web Sites
  • Ability to establish and develop strong relationships with clients, carriers, trusted business partners and coworkers
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
  • Stay up to date on industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
  • Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.
  • Expected to further industry education through insurance courses and inform group department of knowledge gained.
  • Strong ability to problem solves, set, and meet deadlines, communicate, work under pressure, organize, prioritize, manage multiple tasks and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good at attention to detail and ability to self-check work.


Physical:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and to listen for instructions and information. The employee is also required to sit for long periods of time often in front of a computer monitor and operate a computer keyboard. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
